The Golf Club at South River is a private course located in Edgewater, Maryland. Founded in an authentic community of golf enthusiasts at South River Colony, it has a serene setting and is a welcome escape from the ordinary. Located just minutes from downtown Annapolis, the course has a distinguished layout that will impress players of every level.

The Golf Club at South River opened its doors in 1996 as a high-end daily fee golf course. It quickly became one of the most talked about golf courses in the Mid-Atlantic region. Over the years the course developed a very loyal following of local golfers. Strategically placed bunkers and rolling fairways add to the natural beauty of this parkland style course. Great care goes into maintaining this manicured masterpiece and recent renovations have elevated the golf experience to new heights.

In 2007, the decision was made to convert the course to a private golf club. The Golf Course at South River began its conversion to a private golf club on May 15, 2008. The golf course has undergone much work including the addition of a $1 million practice facility and a $1.5 million golf course renovation. The golf course went officially private in November 2011.
The Free State Seniors are very excited to have had the opportunity to play The Golf Club at South River on Monday, April 26, 2021. While Free State has played at almost 90 courses in the Mid-Atlantic region, this was the first time that we have played at The Golf Club at South River.
