September 27, Chester River G&CC, Chestertown, MD

The Free State Seniors held their September tournament at Chester River Yacht and Country Club. The course was challenging, but a lot of fun. The weather, while a bit breezy, was fantastic. It helped ease the pain when having a rough day scoring! The 68 members who played gave their best effort. The results can be found below.

"A Gem in the Land of Pleasant Living"

Chester River Yacht and Country Club was founded in 1929. The course was originally designed by Scotsman, Alex Findlay and expanded by Ed Ault, Sr. Bounded on the east by the magnificent Chester River, the golf course is nestled among farmlands; woods; and beautiful ponds. A picturesque 18-hole regulation course is both a challenge and a delight for high or low handicap golfers. With tight fairways and small undulating greens, the 6350-yard course is a great test for all levels of golfer. The golf program is extensive for all...men, women, and juniors. For warming-up or honing your skills, there's a full-length range as well as a practice bunker, putting green, and chipping green.

If you're a boater, the Yacht Club facilities and marina are impressive. They sponsor the widely known and historic log canoe sailing races along with other regattas throughout the year. They also rendezvous at captivating destinations for family fun and membership fellowship.
Whether you are a golfer, boater, or just someone looking for a great meal, they provide quality service and experience through and through. Chester River Yacht & Country Club is a member of Yachting Clubs of America which opens the doors of 700+ clubs around the United States through reciprocity
